THE REVOLUTION
OF CARE
Motherhood penalty, reproductive work, new family models: small (and huge) ideas to raise children in more egalitarian ways. (In Portuguese only.)
Episode 1:
The 2-months dads
Despite a 2007 reform that gave fathers and mothers equal access to parental leave, men's participation in Germany is still low. Only one-third of fathers decide to stay home with their children and the vast majority of them only stay for two months.
Children under 1 don't have a right to a spot in public childcare in Germany. And only one-third of children up to the age of three go to preschool. The challenges in a country where mothers are still expected to do put their careers on hold.
Episode 3:
Part-time mother
